What does 83× Taq fidelity mean for a PCR master mix?

YEASEN reports fidelity of 83× Taq and 9× standard Pfu for 10166 in its product manual. These figures describe the manufacturer’s relative-fidelity tests. A direct comparison with Q5 or other brands requires matching test methods.

Based on manufacturer specifications. Product documents and sources.

Where does the 83× figure come from?

YEASEN reports this relative-fidelity figure in its 10166 product manual, revision EN20260712.

This is YEASEN's reported comparison with Taq and standard Pfu. The manual does not include a full comparative error-measurement dataset, so the figure cannot be used to rank fidelity across different manufacturers' assays.

What is the difference between fidelity, speed and yield?

Fidelity describes copying accuracy, extension rate affects PCR timing, and yield is the quantity of amplified product. Compare each specification for your template and protocol; the relative-fidelity figure does not predict yield.

What else matters when selecting 10166?

10166 is a 2× complete master mix with loading dye and blunt-ended products, not a separate enzyme vial. YEASEN lists a 20–80% GC range. Its webpage FAQ describes 1–14 kb cDNA amplification, while the manual gives length-dependent guidance without a universal upper limit for all templates.

If your purchase depends on a particular long target, request manufacturer confirmation for that template and application. Do not transfer the cDNA length claim to every genomic or other DNA format.

Which product should be on your shortlist?

Consider 10166 when the high-fidelity, long-fragment and blunt-end format is relevant. Consider 10108 for hot-start genotyping or 10167 for rapid endpoint PCR when those are the stated needs. Compare pack prices once you have chosen the formulation you need.

  • Required downstream use and DNA-end format.
  • Expected target length and evidence for the template type.
  • Whether the supplied loading dye is acceptable.
  • Pack volume, GBP price excluding VAT and evaluation-sample availability.
