How this website uses browser storage
Direct Lab Supplies Ltd uses browser storage to keep your basket and sample-request list, and to remember your privacy choice. Optional Google Analytics statistics and Google Ads measurement each require your separate consent and are off by default. If you give us permission, we also load Crisp live chat and the storage it needs to maintain a conversation.
Cookies, local storage and similar technologies are collectively referred to as browser storage in this notice.
Strictly necessary storage
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
direct-lab-supplies-basket-v2 | Direct Lab Supplies Ltd | Keeps the products and quantities added to your basket. | Up to 30 days |
direct-lab-supplies-sample-request-v1 | Direct Lab Supplies Ltd | Keeps the eligible product families added to your sample request. | Up to 30 days |
dls-cookie-consent | Direct Lab Supplies Ltd | Records your separate live-chat, statistics and advertising-measurement choices, together with the date and notice version. It is used only to remember and honour your choice. | Six months |
Optional functional storage — Crisp live chat
Crisp is not contacted and its script is not loaded unless you accept functional storage. If enabled, Crisp may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring page and chat timing. If you start a conversation, it also processes the messages and any name or email address you choose to provide.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
crisp-client/* | Crisp IM SAS | Creates and restores the chat session, keeps messages available across pages and helps secure the service against abuse and spam. | Up to six months |
Crisp states that its chatbox cookies are used for technical and messaging purposes rather than visitor tracking. Its principal messaging data is hosted in the European Union, although technical relay services and subprocessors may operate in other countries under contractual safeguards.
You can read the current Crisp chatbox cookie policy and Crisp privacy statement.
Live-chat enquiries
If you use live chat to request product information, a quotation or a sample, we use the information to respond to your request and manage the resulting business relationship. Accepting live chat does not subscribe you to marketing.
Please do not submit patient information, health data, clinical sample identifiers or confidential unpublished research data through live chat.
Changing your browser-storage choice stops future use of the live-chat technology on that browser. It does not automatically delete a business enquiry that you have already sent. You may request access to or deletion of personal information by emailing info@directlabsupplies.co.uk, subject to any information we must retain for legal or business record-keeping purposes.
Optional statistics — Google Analytics
With your consent, Google Analytics helps us understand page visits, traffic sources, successful sample/quotation requests and device/browser usage. Only approved campaign categories and referring website origins are used; arbitrary query strings, referrer paths and enquiry references are excluded. Google may process technical information, including your IP address, to provide this service. We do not send enquiry content or contact details as analytics events. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled.
The first-party cookies _ga and _ga_7613BL2K4Ndistinguish browsers and maintain session information, with a configured maximum lifetime of 180 days. Separately, event and user data are retained for up to 14 months; new activity restarts the user-data retention period. Aggregated reports are not subject to this same retention limit. Google may process data outside the UK. See Google's privacy policy.
Statistics are off by default. Withdrawing consent disables analytics, clears these cookies and reloads the page to stop the service.
Optional advertising measurement — Google Ads
Only if you choose advertising measurement, we load Google Ads measurement and link ad clicks to sample or quotation requests successfully received by our website. Accepting statistics or live chat alone does not enable this. We do not enable remarketing, personalised advertising, Google signals or enhanced conversions.
Google receives the request type (sample or quotation), a random event identifier, a page address limited to its path and recognised ad-click identifiers, and technical information such as your IP address and browser information. We do not send your name, email, telephone number, address, products requested or form text as advertising event data. Clicks on submit buttons, failed requests and requests made without this consent are not reported as leads.
Google's first-party _gcl_* cookies store advertising click information; we configure a maximum lifetime of 90 days without extending it on each visit. You can withdraw consent in cookie settings: we stop new events, clear these first-party cookies and reload to stop the previously loaded service. This does not retract events already sent to Google. We do not recover or report earlier requests when you subsequently opt in.
Google may process data outside the UK. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google's privacy policy.
Change your choice
All optional categories are off by default. You can accept, reject or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing functional consent resets the local chat session and stops the Crisp service from loading again.
