11150 or 11155: which Hifair AdvanceFast cDNA kit fits your work?

11155 has premixed primers for cDNA synthesis before qPCR. 11150 supplies primers separately and covers longer-cDNA applications in its manual. Both kits include genomic DNA-removal components. RNA extraction reagents are not included.

Compare the supplied components first

The main buying distinction is control over priming versus a ready-premixed qPCR format. Gene-specific priming is permitted for 11150, but gene-specific primers are not listed among its supplied components.

What are the documented advantages of 11155?

11155 combines premixed primers with a five-minute RT incubation and a separate DNA-removal step. YEASEN reports improved inhibitor tolerance and cDNA yield compared with its previous-generation Hifair III product, and DNA digestion up to 1,000 ng in its tested conditions. These are supplier comparisons, not a promise of better results in every laboratory.

The advertised 7 minutes 5 seconds adds the stated DNA-digestion, RT and inactivation incubations. Preparation, ramping and the downstream qPCR run are additional.

Which kit is intended for your application?

The 11150 manual describes cDNA below 14 kb in its stated RT programme and discusses extending incubation for longer products. That statement is not a guaranteed output length for degraded RNA or every target, and it does not describe the separate downstream PCR polymerase.

11155's manual explicitly excludes a recommendation for long-fragment gene-cloning applications. Choose the kit whose primer format and intended use match your application.

What else is needed for RT-qPCR?

An RT kit does not replace RNA extraction or the downstream qPCR mix. 11184 is the separate SYBR Green detection mix in this range. Its dye chemistry, ROX settings and instrument programme still need to match the intended assay.

A 10 T RT kit means ten RT reactions, not ten plates. Calculate downstream wells from your own template use, targets, controls and replicates before comparing pack costs.
